Misc.: Moving Our Industry Forward
Tuesday, November 29, 2005 Posted by MarkStanley
It seems like every month or so, there is a new and better performing cleaning agent that enters into the "arena". Furthermore, every year or so, there is a new cleaning system that comes along touting its user-benefits and cleaning ability. Adjectives such as: deeper, brighter, quick drying, safer, earth-friendlier, hypo-allergenic, nonresidual, brittle-drying, etc. are constantly being thrown about, describing them. Have you also noticed this trend?

It seems I get asked this question quite frequently. And not just by new clients or prospective ones either. Sometimes, even "long term" customers, who've never shown much interest before in exactly how I get their carpet so clean, will suddenly show great interest in "the mechanics" of my VLM (very low moisture) carpet cleaning system. In The Eye Of...
[ Editor's Note: This article holds great relevance for anyone (especially, any cleaning professional) in today's "post 9-11 world". ]
Imagine yourself in your favorite restaurant. You are there with your wife and kids having a very agreeable lunch. It is noisy with the sound of children enjoying their school vacation.
... Inside of a second, the entire scene changes completely.
An enormous explosion totally swallows every other sound and sucks the very air out of the room. The scene is now one of complete chaos. Lying strewn around the restaurant are the bodies of men, women, and children who lay dead, dying, or horrendously injured. Pieces of metal or nails that have been intentionally imbedded in the bomb are now imbedded in human beings.

Misc.: Follow A Routine For Success
Tuesday, November 29, 2005 Posted by BillScheuneman
Many times, we are asked: "How do we establish a good repeat and referral customer base to keep business growing year after year?" Every professional cleaner in his or her heart believes they offer the best services, but truthfully it is your customers who will determine that fact. Over 30 years ago, I decided I must motivate myself and my customers to help me succeed in this fantastic business. I began writing down a step-by-step daily routine that we still use today to generate an on-going customer base that has greatly added to our success..
